The Go Brigada: Adopt a School Project is an initiative that embodies the spirit of ‘Bayanihan,’ a uniquely Filipino cultural value emphasizing collective unity and cooperation to achieve common goals. On August 18, 2023, more than 60 company volunteers gathered at Bagumbayan Elementary School in Quezon City to undertake a comprehensive cleanup and transformation project. From rejuvenating classrooms to sparking enthusiasm for sustainability, 500 students now enjoy a revitalized learning environment, fostering a deeper connection to education and personal growth – a tangible investment in our future leaders.
One of our key ongoing sustainability endeavors is our Soilmate Project, through which we have planted thousand of seedlings in both the Sierra Madre mountains, which protect Manila from tropical storms, and the La Mesa Nature Preserve, which absorbs a significant portion of Metro Manila carbon dioxide and provides drinking water for 25 million residents. The project is supported by high employee participation and is rooted in hope among our team members for a brighter future ahead.
In our ongoing commitment to minimize our organizationâs carbon footprint and uplift local farmers, in December 2023 we distributed eco-friendly Christmas baskets to residents in need, focusing on Senior Citizens, PWDs, and impoverished families from various barangays in Quezon City, Philippines. Each Go Beyond Christmas basket includes a varied assortment of organic vegetables and fruits. The event featured an estimated 15 tons of vegetables grown by our partner farmers in Benguet. This annual initiative is another step towards our goal of sharing nutritious and sustainable choices with SourceCXâs partner communities.
